I am a researcher in haptic science and engineering. My research focuses on understanding fundamental mechanisms including skin mechanics and psychophysical responses underlying our sense of touch. By using those insights, I design and fabricate tactile sensor and actuators that are based on scientific first principles to generate naturalistic feedback and optimize user experiences.
I received my M.S and Ph.D. in Systems Engineering at the University of Virgina in 2020 and 2023, respectively, where I worked in Gerling Touch Lab advised by Prof. Gerling.
